Welcome Tour Plymouth Hoe Erasmus Plus UK Almond Vocational LinkUpon their arrival to Plymouth, our Erasmus students were welcomed by their host families and representatives from Almond Vocational Link. They were each handed a Student Handbook and invited to a welcome tour and a organisational meeting on the following day. On the next day, our students were escorted by their host families to the arranged meeting spot outside of the Plymouth Guildhall, where they met with Almond Vocational Link’s representative – Kamila who took them for a tour around Plymouth’s historic waterfront, including the Hoe and Barbican. Afterwards the participants  had a chance to explore the city centre before heading to Almond’s office for their organisational meeting led by our Senior Administrator – Petra.

The company I worked at was really amazing. All the people were really nice and welcoming and I had fun working there especially after I got an amazing feedback on the presentation I worked on. Everything was well organised and I had a good time staying here. I would definitely recommend Almond Vocational Link because they took really good care of all of us and made sure everyone was happy with their host family and the company they worked for.

Silvija about her Erasmus Plus experience

20160630_103426For this particular group, Almond Vocational Link arranged a three week work experience placement with local companies in the area of business administration, social media, marketing and accounts. Our Erasmus interns received excellent feedback from their work placement supervisors and proved to be excellent additions to local businesses. They all conducted themselves in a professional manner, had a unique chance to experience working in a different country and improved their interpersonal skills in a new environment.

This work placement was absolutely amazing! It did not only meet my expectations but exceeded them. There were various different tasks from different departments and I had the possibility to do what I was interested in. My colleagues were all so nice and kind, they always assisted me If I needed help. I would love to come back and work here again, although this is highly unlikely, but if the opportunity arises, I will grab it and move to Plymouth. Thank you all for being the best!

Almond Vocational Link also arranged weekly social activities for the group aimed with the aim of integration, improving English and understanding the British culture a little bit better. The students took part in a cream tea evening at a traditional British Tea  Rooms. We visited the charming Tudor Rose Tea Rooms situated on Plymouth’s historic Barbican and enjoyed homemade scones with clotted cream and jam, all washed down with traditional British tea. The group had a wonderful opportunity to sit back, relax and get to know students from other countries. On their last week, we arranged a Bowling evening at the local Tenpin Bowling and arcade centre. The group had a great time competing against each other and enjoyed some arcade games, game of pool and drinks afterwards. Lots of fun was had by many on both occasions.

I was expecting something completely different . This organisation is so different from any other one, I really enjoyed working there. The people were so  nice and friendly, I learnt so many different things there. I could see myself working there again because it was just so awesome. I had a great time. The services that Almond Vocational Link provided were super good! The accommodation was really good, the work placement as well. There isn’t anything to complain about. All in all, I am very satisfied with everything, I would recommend Almond any time.

Lisa-Marie about her Erasmus Plus experience in Plymouth, UK

We provided support and mentoring for the group throughout their stay. All the Erasmus students attended weekly 1:1 sessions during which they had a chance to speak to a member of staff about their work placement and host family to ensure everyone was happy.

At the end of their stay, the group were presented with Certificates of Completion confirming their participation in the Erasmus Plus mobility. It was very sad for us to see them go. All the students should be very proud of them selves, they represented Austria and their school exceptionally well. We wish them all the best in their future careers.Certificate Ceremony Austrian Erasmus Plus Students Almond Vocational Link
