The 4th Transnational MMLT Project Meeting concerning the piloting, was held in Plymouth on Thursday 8th and Friday 9th May.
The meeting began at 9am at City Business Park where the partners were greeted and shown to the conference room.
The Lord Mayor – Mrs Vivien Pengelly officially opened the conference in the presence of project partners from Italy, Greece, Romania, Poland and Hungary. She admitted that Montessori Methodology was something very close to her heart and something she was very interested in as someone who spent many years working in Education. We felt very honoured to hear her very positive feedback regarding the project. The Mayor joined us for the first part of the conference and listened with great interest to some of the presentations from our partners.
As a part of the Montessori Methodology in Language Training, Almond Vocational Link provided free training course for language teachers here in England. The Lord Mayor awarded the teachers who completed their training with official certificates of achievement. The teachers received 15 hours of training which included face-to-face sessions with our specialist language teacher.
She then had some time to speak to our European partners and Almond Vocational Link’s staff. Before she left she congratulated us on the project and said “Well done, what a tremendous amount of work you have done”
Day one of the conference was dedicated to discussing the piloting phase of the MMLT projects. All the partners presented the outcomes of their teacher training and shared with us the feedback which they received. The discussions on the project’s progress lasted till nearly 7pm. Afterwards the group made their way for a well deserved dinner at Shirley Valentine’s. Day 2 of our conference was focused around financial and organisational matters.
